Capturing Elegance and Exclusivity: Documenting São Tomé & Príncipe Islands
Welcome to my extraordinary photographic journey in São Tomé & Principe, Africa. Capturing the essence of these breathtaking tropical islands, I had the honour of documenting the distinguished “Lux Paradise Trip” event, bringing together renowned Portuguese personalities in this idyllic setting. As the official photographer, I meticulously curated a comprehensive documentary, showcasing the vibrant activities and exclusive moments between the Island of São Tomé and Ilhéu das Rolas sponsored by Pestana network hotels. From fashion shoots to cultural gatherings, my camera and lenses captured the allure that graced the pages of esteemed magazines.
In 2013, my journey continued with HBD, an ambitious project on the remote island of Principe. Documenting the island’s development, preservation of fauna and flora, and fostering a sustainable community was a profound experience.
One highlight was witnessing the solar eclipse at the historic Roça Sundy. Guided by Paulo Crawford, a distinguished theoretical physicist and retired professor from the Faculty of Science at the University of Lisbon along with and Claudio Moises Paulo, an Astrophysicist and coordinator of Astronomers Without Borders. This momentous occasion celebrated the 94th year of convergence of scientific exploration, honouring the groundbreaking experiment conducted in 1919.
Alongside these incredible experiences, I immersed myself in the island’s rich heritage, capturing each activity orchestrated by HBD. This remarkable initiative strives for sustainability and promotes environmental consciousness, making a lasting impact on this remarkable place providing me the opportunity to bounce between my endeavours life from sub-Saharan Africa into a contrast of intact nature, paradisaical tropical forests and beaches and remarkable innocence, still present in local communities.
